Is Newborn Screening testing required?

All babies born in New Jersey are required by law to be tested for twenty (20) disorders within 48 hours of birth. One heel prick provides enough blood to test for all disorders.

As far as I know, newborn drug testing isn't mandated in any state. However, the pregnant mother DOES have to submit a urine sample upon admission to the hospital.
